Empty Drums: African Leaders

                Empty Drums
In today's volatile and globally connected society, many world leaders are seeking the best ways to advance their own form of imperialism. They are seeking for better means of enriching their own nations as resources gets depleted and scarce. While some of the means used to acquire such wealth are wrong, deleterious and harmful(which I'll never condone), others are very beneficial, harmless and innovative. Many developed countries including China are engaging in global espionage using covert and overt means to empower themselves subtly at the expense of others with African countries serving as pawns and donkeys to laboriously fulfil their goals indirectly.
While other countries are busy empowering and developing themselves, African leaders are busy avariciously enriching themselves with all apathy and heartlessness. They have failed to realised that in this ever increasing competitive and politically aggressive world, the weaker nations will always continue to serve as the ever docile host for these aggressive parasitic nations.
These African leaders have allowed their foresight to be blinded by their greed.  They fail to realise that their every greed driven decisions will come back to hunt them in the long run. As a case study, let's look at the north eastern part of Nigeria. This region has been bedevilled by the terrorists known as Boko Haram for over six years now. Over four thousand lives has been lost.  One of the major reasons these beasts were able to totally destabilize that region was because of the high levels of illiteracy and extreme poverty in that region. Their leaders had ignored them, stolen public funds for personal use and had simply turned a blind eye to their plight. Imagine if Nigeria was highly developed with sophisticated arsenals and a very well trained and financed military. Do you think we wouldn't  be able to obliterate those beasts with just one strike? How can we do that when we have empty drums ruling us. Remember all that I've discussed above. These beasts didn't just appear from nowhere. They had an origin. They have a mission. They have sponsors. They are here to stay so long as they(our leaders)continue to be empty drums.
